Ms. Carnaghi's First Grade Monkeys

Picture
As of June 10th, 2011, I completed my first year of teaching. After my yearlong student teaching internship, I was fortunate enough to get a job in the district I interned in, East Lansing Public Schools. For the 2010-2011 academic year, I taught first grade at Donley Elementary. My class consisted of 19 students (10 girls and 9 boys), from a wide variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. My first year of teaching was challenging, to say the least, and also an incredibly valuable learning experience.

Technology Integration

Throughout my first year of teaching I was able to integrate a wide variety of technologies into the classroom. These technologies included:

SMART Interactive Whiteboard
SMART Slate
SMART Response Clickers
Digital Storyboarding
MP3 Players (for listening to and recording audio books)
The school's computer lab
AVerMedia Document Cameras
Epson Projectors
Tumblebooks
YouTube, TeacherTube and United Streaming
