MAET Course Descriptions
Here you will find a description of each of the courses I have taken as part of the Educational Technology Master's Program at Michigan State University.
I entered the MAET program with six graduate level credits from my yearlong student teaching internship (2009-2010 academic year). My MAET journey began in the summer of 2010, with CEP 810 and 811. I continued my coursework in the spring of 2011, with CEP 812. During the summer of 2011, I participated in the East Lansing Year 2 Summer Cohort (CEP 800, 815 & 822). In the fall of 2011, I concluded my MAET journey with CEP 807 and 820.

CEP 800, 815 & 822 - East Lansing Summer Cohort

The Year 2 East Lansing Summer Cohort combines three courses (CEP 800, 815 & 822), to create a six week seminar.
For the first two weeks, participants come together for face-to-face classes on MSU's campus. Students then meet online for the remaining four weeks of the cohort. Students then reconvene on campus at the end of the six weeks, for a final meeting.

CEP 800: Learning in School and Other Settings
Course Description: Learning as active, socially-mediated construction of knowledge in school, home, community, and work settings. What is learned, how it is taught and learned, and what learners bring to the setting.
CEP 815: Technology and Leadership
Course Description: In this course, we examine the complex charge of being responsible for managing relationships between technology, teaching and learning. Professional development strategies, project management, planning, evaluation, relationship building, along with the ethical and social implications of technology integration will be examined.
CEP 822: Approaches to Educational Research
Course Description: Alternative methods of educational research. Identifying researchable problems in education and developing a research proposal. Applications of descriptive and inferential statistics for analyzing and critiquing published studies.
